It is not possible for any tourists to visit the city of Burnaby and not experience the fantastic parks that the city offers. The parks at Burnaby have something for everyone, from sunny sports trails to sandy beaches, from forests to water sports and from exquisite gardens to relaxing golf courses.
The Barnet Marine Park is a delight for visitors who can enjoy the sea, sand and sunshine all at a single place. It is the perfect place for a leisurely stroll in the morning or evening while enjoying the enchanting view of Burrard Inlet and the Coast Mountains. Then there is the Burnaby Mountain Conservation Area which offers the view of the mountain, water and the city. The ecological assets which are found in the place are a must see. They have been preserved there for the purpose of outdoor recreation as well as education. This is a unique feature of the park and hence deserves a special visit. There are other beauties adorning the park like the Rose Gardens, picnic spots, children’s play area and hiking and walking trails.
The Burnaby Lake Regional Nature Park is set on 300 hectares of land. It boasts of a wide array of trails and a captivating forest. The park features an interpretive Nature House. It is mainly used for exhibiting educational items. It also has an observation tower which allows you to enjoy the sights of birds, wildlife as also the panoramic view of the city. The Central Park of the city is famous for offering wide pathways lined with beautiful trees as also the rugged nature trails. The never ending list of parks and trails at the city of Burnaby also include the Robert Burnaby Park, Confederation Park, Deer Lake Park, Burnaby Fraser Foreshore Park and BC Parkway and Highland Park Line.
